Tallaght, Dublin and my memories of growing up there are my inspiration for this song, but in a broader sense it's about the special place home has for many of us.
"Train train number nine
Coming on the railway line
If the train goes off the track
Do you want your money back?"
This verse was a little rhyme we'd say to pick who is "on" for whatever game we were playing on the streets where we spent most of our time playing games.
Lyrics
Ualach Ó mo Chroí
Ualach Ó mo Chroí
Baineann tú an t-ualach mhór
Go deo na ndeor
Is tú mo stórach mo Chroí
Agus Ualach ó Mo Chroí
When I’m feeling lost
It’s then that you find me
And lead me home
to where my soul shines bright
Take me home tonight
Down the Old Bawn Way
And round the avenue
To where the Crescent trees
Come into view
The Streets of my youth
Ualach Ó mo Chroí
Baineann tú an t-ualach mhór
Go deo na ndeor
Is tú mo stórach mo Chroí
Agus Ualach ó Mo Chroí
Train train number nine
Coming on the railway line
If the train goes off the track
Do you want your money back?
Ualach Ó mo Chroí
Baineann tú an t-ualach mhór
Go deo na ndeor
Is tú mo stórach mo Chroí
Agus Ualach ó Mo Chroí
So if you lose your way
Trust in me and See
Your path will eluminate
We create our own fate
Ualach Ó mo Chroí
Baineann tú an t-ualach mhór
Go deo na ndeor
Is tú mo stórach mo Chroí
Agus Ualach ó Mo Chroí
