Inspired by the Vikings' escapades in Ireland. Loch means a lake so Lochlannaigh translates as Lakelanders which is what the Irish called the Vikings. You can see vestiges of their influence in Ireland still, from the round towers to the place names like Leixlip (Salmon Leap) where I lived for a while.

The Vikings - Na Lochlannaigh

Fadó Fadó
Long ago Long ago Long ago
Long ago Long ago Long ago
Oer the lonely oer the lonely oer the lonely oer the lonely in a Longboat
Down a river down a river, made us shiver made us shiver in a Longboat
For to Plunder For to Plunder With the Thunder With The Thunder in a Longboat
For to Plunder For to Plunder With the Thunder With The Thunder in a Longboat
Would they stay or go?
Would they stay or go?
Na Lochlannaigh
Na Lochlannaigh
Long ago Long ago Long ago
Long ago Long ago Long ago
Would they build would they turn were they tamed as they burned their LongBoats
Would they build would they turn were they tamed as they burned their LongBoats
Or would they leave with their speed back across the seas in there Longboat
Or would they leave with their speed back across the seas in there Longboat
Would they stay or go?
Would they stay or go?
Na Lochlannaigh
Na Lochlannaigh
